With a steaming cup of chamomile tea on the desk, I opened the book for the first time and was amazed at the variety of ways to pronounce words in French. I was kind of expecting it, so I am not deterred. With college applications and essays vying for attention, I managed to squeeze in half an hour and learned about the personal pronouns and the present tense of être. Unfortunately, my laptop is being fixed right now, so all hopes of hearing a lovely French voice are ruined. Hopefully, I will get it back tomorrow and start on the CD that comes with the book.
